NEW FORD RANGER RAPTOR GOES FROM FAST TO GOBSMACKING WITH ALMOST TWICE THE POWER AND A HUGE SUSPENSION UPGRADE

Launched in 2018, the original Ford Ranger Raptor turned out to be one of the great automotive highlights of recent years. The Aussie-developed high-performance dual-cab displayed on- and off-road capability that simply embarrassed standard utes.

But for some people that wasn’t enough and Ford Performance heard their cries. Enter the new Raptor with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine boasting close to 300kW – almost double that of the old 2.0-litre turbo-diesel it replaces.

And that’s far from all. The new Raptor upgrades its suspension, its 4×4 capability and, with the help of the new Ranger on which it’s based, its exterior look and interior technology and presentation levels.

It all adds up to huge leap forward – one that Ford equates to upgrading from ST to RS spec in hot hatch parlance. Sadly, we can’t yet tell you what it drives like yet, but for now join Bruce Newton as he gets up close and personal with the dramatically overhauled Raptor.
